Streamlining PEO’s digital network
Evolving Web worked with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) to unify 36 diverse Chapter websites into a cohesive solution integrated with PEO's main navigation. Using Drupal, we created dedicated spaces for each Chapter to share activities and events. The design blends the gravitas of a regulatory body with a tech-savvy, innovative aesthetic, reflecting engineers' forward-thinking spirit. An interactive map allows users to easily access their local PEO Chapter website.

Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) regulates and licenses engineers across 36 Chapters, setting standards for knowledge, ethics, and professionalism. PEO Chapters foster local networking, professional development, and community engagement.
GOALS
Innovative solutions through clear, accessible design
PEO aimed to unify 36 Chapter WordPress sites into one platform with a consistent user experience, allowing easy content management for Chapters and oversight for PEO. The project also served as a prototype for the main site redesign. With a 2024 AODA compliance deadline, the rebuild included timely training for Chapters. The design emphasized clarity, accessibility, and engineering innovation.
CHALLENGES
Streamlining chapter websites with precision and flexibility
The core challenge was aligning 36 distinct Chapter websites with unique content while maintaining a consistent design. We creatively incorporated unique imagery for each Chapter, while ensuring consistent headers, footers, and menus. The project also included integrating advanced search capabilities, developing a Chapter Finder, and creating a custom map to define accurate chapter boundaries.
SOLUTIONS
Empowering PEO with a fresh, unified design
Through client workshops, we crafted a modern, unified interface that integrates all 36 Chapter websites into a seamless user experience on the main PEO website. We designed a modular system with flexibility for Chapter-specific content, while prioritizing accessibility and modern design. The interface features dynamic visuals, strategic branding elements like azure accents and angular textures, and an interactive Chapter map with custom borders for accuracy. We integrated flexible components and efficient content management via Drupal to ensure consistency. The final design reinforces PEO’s authority while embracing innovation and clarity.
RESULTS
Modernizing PEO’s digital experience for 90,000 engineers
Evolving Web successfully delivered a flexible, modular website with streamlined content management that addresses the differing needs of 36 local PEO Chapters, with the combined potential of supporting Ontario’s 90,000 licensed engineers. The website has a refreshed look and feel, incorporates enhanced search and navigation capabilities, and features an interactive map that makes it easy for visitors to explore and find their local Chapter.
